In their second meet of the winter season, the East girls (2-0) and boys (2-0) teams handily beat Great Valley by scores of 107-68 (girls) and 106-64 (boys).
Senior Victoria Maki was the only double individual winner of the girl's meet, taking the 200 free with a district consideration cut, as well as the 100 fly. She ended the meet by anchoring the winning 400 free relay with teammates Abby O'Donnell, Reya Petrick, and Hayley Heckler. Freshman Ellie Reese and Lucille Obenski added individual wins in the 100 free and 100 back, respectively and Reese teamed up with Finley Mulhern, Sydney Greene, and Heckler to win the 200 free relay. Senior Cady Kiebort was runner-up in the 200IM and the 500 free with a district consideration cut and added a win in the 200 medley relay with Petrick, Mulhern, and Heckler. Rachel Laraio won the women's diving competition with a district consideration score of 224.95.
The boy's team of Sam Sperling, Matt DiAddezio, Gabe Carroll, and Jack Thompson started off the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay, lowering their district time from last week. Carroll would go on to add three more victories in the 100 free (with a district cut), as well as the 200 free, and he later teamed up with Sam Sperling, Connor Kiebort, and Joseph Zeng to win the 400 free relay. Sam Sperling added a district cut and a win in the 200IM as well as touching first in the 500 free. Thompson and Kiebort finished 1-2 in the 50 free, and then partnered up with Niall Richards and George Liu to win the 200 free relay. Liu touched first in the 100 fly, while Luke Sperling picked up the win in the 100 back. The duo of Thompson and DiAddezio battled to another close 1-2 finish in the 100 breast, with both going under the district consideration time again this week. Richards, in his first-ever diving competition, won the event for the East boys.
The East team returns to the pool on December 21st when they travel to the West Chester YMCA to face West Chester East HS at 7:30PM.
