In their first away meet of the season, both the Girls and Boys squads defeated a small but mighty Coatesville team. The girls move to 4-1 while the boys remain undefeated at 5-0.
The girls started off strong with the 200 Medley teams finishing 2 & 3. Whitney Kane won the 200 IM while Ava Sgarra, Reya Petrick and Lucille Obenski took 2, 3 & 4 in the 50 Free. The Divers continued their winning ways with Rachel Larario, Avery Surden and Joya Mentrikoski sweeping the event with a solid exhibition score from Jillian Fuchs. In the second half of the meet, Aubrie Wilson and Riley Petrick finished 1 & 2 in 100 Fly and in a close 100 Free, Kane took first with Sgarra only .40 seconds behind her for a 3rd place finish. The B 200 Free Relay team of Riley Petrick, Chloe Carroll, Eva Wells & Hayley Heckler touched first while the "divers relay" team, with help from Chelsea Nguyen, bettered their time from their previous entry! Rounding out the meet, Obenski won the 100 Back with freshmen Carroll and Peyton Wheeler taking 3 and 4 and the 400 Free relay team of Adithi Kashyap, Heckler, Carroll & Wilson held on to touch first.
The boys saw some lineup changes against a small Coatesville boys squad. The Medley relay teams finished in 1st and 2nd and Sam Engle won the 200 IM. Senior Jack Thompson touched first in the 50 Free with Max Rasco finishing 2nd. Diver Niall Richards was back on the board this week taking first for the event with a. new personal best of 131.25. Opening the second half of the meet, the boys swept the 100 Fly with Senior Captain Gabe Carroll touching first, followed by Arav Mehta and Aryan Singh. Sam Sperling and Andrew Fulton went 1- 2 in 100 Free. The boys also swept the 500 with Junior Captain Matt DiAddezio finishing in first followed by the Freshmen duo of Paul Gately and Jack Rohrbaugh. Moving to exhibition scoring, the B 200 Free Relay Team of Carroll, Fulton, Ahaan Nigam & Sperling, out touched the A Team of Richards, Leo Wu, Arav Mehta & Thompson. Sam Engle saw a second first place finish of the night in 100 Back and Lucas Respicio touched 2nd in a tight finish of the 100 Breast.
Congratulations to our athletes of the meet, determined by their Coaches: Elizabeth Kabatt and Niall Richards! The Cougars are back in action on Friday, 1/19 against Avon Grove at the Jennersville YMCA.
