East boys remain undefeated, girls suffer loss against Shanahan

The Downingtown East boys kept their unbeaten streak alive defeating Bishop Shanahan 95-52. The girls dropped to 4-1 with a loss yesterday by a score of 89-80.


Victoria Maki (200 free), Cady Kiebort (100 free), and Finley Mulhern (100 breast) were the lone individual winners of the meet. They also teamed up with Reya Petrick to take the win in the 200 free relay. There was no diving competition at this meet.


On the boy's side, the 200 medley relay of Niall Richards, Matt DiAddezio, Aidan McIlroy, and Jack Thompson started off the meet with a win. DiAddezio added a win in the 200 free and a second place in the 100 free. Thompson and Richards went 1-2 in the 200 IM, while Luke Sperling won the 100 fly. George Liu took home the win in the 500 free and teamed up with McIlroy, DiAddezio, and Thompson to win the 200 free relay. In the final event of the meet, Leon Dang, Colin Drummond, Andrew Detwiler, and Akash Krishan won the 400 free relay.


The team will face off against West Chester Henderson on Thursday, January 27th at the West Chester YMCA.
